Marshall A. Johnson
Marshall A. Johnson has been a trial lawyer in state and federal courts since 1983, and has counseled traditional and high-tech companies since 1988. He has pursued and/or defended companies in Federal Court in securities-related matters, in breach of contract actions, in claims of fraud, in anti-trust actions, for violation of civil racketeering (RICO) prohibitions, in civil rights (discrimination) actions against employers, in copyright and trademark actions, has defended railroads in employers liability (FELA) actions involving traumatic injury claims, and has defended police officers in civil rights and police brutality actions. He has also engaged in trial work in State Court, usually in defense of public entities or companies, including Fortune 500 companies, in business, product liability, employment/discrimination, personal injury, probate and real estate actions. He has served as trial and as appellate counsel in lengthy complex litigation matters involving products liability and toxic tort claims, and has served as trial and appellate counsel for some of the world’s largest automobile and equipment rental companies.
Since 1983 Mr. Johnson has provided consultation and has prepared essential papers and documents for individuals, estates and for most forms of businesses. He founded and has served as general counsel for a biotech company since 1988 and is a member of the Corporate Counsel Association. He is currently a licensed Realtor® and is a member of the National and California Associations of Realtors. In addition to providing legal services relating to real estate disputes, Mr. Johnson has established Marshall Realty & Investments to serve the real estate investment needs of his clients. Mr. Johnson currently serves as a Judge Pro Tempore for the Alameda County Superior Court and is an attorney representative on a Committee of Federal Judges for the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.
